Nice start. My main crit would be that your lighting direction is inconsistent. You have a strong shadow directly underneath implying a strong direct light from above yet half the head is in relatively strong shadow. And maybe try a more dynamic pose or even just a 3/4 pose?

The internship thing is going good. not sure how long it will continue unfortunately due to them having a lack of projects to give me but we will see. I got to work on a few shots for the remake of Halo which was good fun and experience so no complaints there
No, I wouldn't say it's a turd by any stretch of the imagination because there are some strong elements there. The head design is interesting and the arms also work pretty well. I think you need to lose the bottom half, beef up the torso area (to support the weight of the arms and that hammer thing), make the bottom half of the body look like it belongs with the arms and head and spin it to a 3/4 shot.
